Coppelia

You cannot understand Cuba or its version of socialism until you have been to Coppelia. Cubans wait here for hours to have some ice cream before or after a film at the theatre across the street. I came here with Cubans so we could sit in the Cuban section and pay in moneda nacional (much cheaper than the foreigner section). The place is bustling (like all of Havana) and the ice cream is divine. The name comes from a ballet in an attempt to achieve with ice cream the perfection of the Cuban National Ballet.
